Emily Nelson, LAC, is a Licensed Associate Counselor providing specialized, accessible online therapy for teens, adults, and couples throughout the state of Arizona. Holding a Master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from Messiah University, Emily helps clients navigate life's challenges from the comfort, privacy, and convenience of their own homes. By removing the friction of a commute, her virtual practice makes it easier for busy families, working adults, and couples to consistently prioritize their mental health, whether they live in Phoenix, Peoria, or anywhere else across Arizona.
Emily’s practice focuses on helping clients recognize negative patterns, build emotional resilience, and create lasting, meaningful change. For children, teens, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and intense stress, she incorporates DBT-informed strategies (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) to teach concrete skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. For couples experiencing communication breakdowns or relational drift, Emily utilizes Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help partners understand each other's deeper emotional needs, heal conflict, and rebuild secure attachment.
Using a warm, systemic, and strength-based approach, Emily ensures therapy feels like a supportive partnership where you can show up exactly as you are. Outside of her clinical practice, she loves spending quality time with her husband and their two cats, exploring Japan, and baking fresh bread.
